We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Urgent Care Clinical Triage Hub. This is a new and evolving service, allowing para...

As the administrative support to the Clinical Triage Hub, you will be expected to provide a welcoming and professional first impression for Healthcare Professionals contacting the service, to ensure they receive an excellent customer service experience and that patients are streamed to the most appropriate area to provide their treatment. You will be the first point of contact for anyone accessing the service therefore, you must be able to deal professionally with a range of enquiries, in person, by phone or by email in an efficient, polite and courteous manner.

The post holder will be expected to provide full clerical support to the Clinical Triage Hub. You will be expected to work as part of a team but also without direct supervision to ensure the smooth running of the service. Flexibility is required as part of the role as the service works 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Qualifications

Essential: - Good standard of numeracy and literacy.; - Evidence of recent further development / training to NVQ 3 level.

Desirable: - IT qualification or equivalent.

Skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Able to deal confidently and professionally with all members of the MDT including patients and their families, resolving queries and progress chasing
  • Ability to analyse information to resolve problems
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Well-developed negotiating and motivating skills.
  • Experience of servicing meetings and taking minutes.
  • Ability to utilise a range of IT programmes, including Microsoft Office Suite including knowledge of Microsoft Access and PowerPoint.

Desirable: - oKnowledge of the Health Service; - oKnowledge of Patient Administration systems e.g. EMIS/HIVE.

Experience

Essential: - Demonstrable experience of working within and office environment

Desirable: - Experience of working with the NHS in a support role.

Personal attributes/abilities

Essential

  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Adaptable with a flexible approach to work and working hours.
  • Good customer service skills
  • Willingness to work flexibly at various locations in the service.
  • Ability to travel between various locations in the community.

Desirable: - oRecognition of own limitations/flexibility.
