We are looking to appoint an Access and Communication Support Worker to deliver dedicated support to children and young people with vision impairments within school settings, promoting inclusive access to learning and the wider curriculum. This is a term-time post and the salary is pro rata.
What will you be doing?
This role involves working directly within school settings between 8.30am-3.30pm to support students with significant vision needs, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum through the adaptation of educational resources. The role will involve supporting the development of braille and other specialist skills.
The Hearing and Vision Specialist Team provides specialist support to children and young people aged 0–19 across both West and North Northamptonshire. Applicants must be willing and able to travel to a variety of school locations, and therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
A qualification in Braille and familiarity with Inclusive Technology are desirable; however, a willingness to undertake training is essential. Comprehensive training will be provided by our experienced team.
We welcome applications from individuals with experience and an understanding of working in educational settings who believe this role aligns with their skills and interests.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to join the Hearing and Vision Specialist Team, which provides specialist support to pupils with specialist hearing and vision needs.
Salary: Band 3
The post is term-time only (salary pro rata),

Closing date for Applications: 14th September.
