Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nursing Home Manager to take responsibility for a 41-bed nursing home in Ilkeston.
We are looking for an accomplished, motivated leader who can demonstrate a strong track record in care-home management and has previously achieved and maintained high standards with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
This is a key leadership appointment, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to lead an established service, develop a committed team and continue driving high standards of clinical and person-centred care.
The successful candidate will be an experienced care-home professional who leads by example, understands what excellent care looks like and can create a positive culture for residents, families and staff.
- A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Registered Manager/Care Home Manager
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health & Social Care, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- A proven track record of achieving a CQC rating of GOOD or OUTSTANDING in a previous management role
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, quality frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrable experience of successfully leading and developing care teams
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, governance, risk management and quality assurance
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding, person-centred care
A clinical background (RGN/RMN) is highly desirable and would be a significant advantage.
Your Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, quality, compliance and operational performance of the home.
- Lead the home with a clear focus on quality, safety and resident experience
- Maintain and continually improve standards in line with CQC requirements
- Ensure the service remains fully compliant and inspection-ready
- Lead, motivate and develop the nursing and care teams
- Promote a positive, accountable and supportive working culture
- Oversee recruitment, retention, supervision and staff performance
- Maintain robust clinical governance and quality-assurance systems
- Oversee safeguarding, medication management, care planning and risk management
- Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, commissioners and healthcare professionals
- Monitor budgets, staffing and resources while maintaining excellent standards of care
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the service
The Opportunity
Salary: £55,000 per annum (non-clinical) £65,000 per annum (clinical)
