The role of Night Senior Care Assistant at Agincare involves providing care and support to residents during the night. As an integral part of the care team at Victory care home in Chatham, the assistant will focus on delivering person-centred care, which includes assisting with personal hygiene, administering medication safely, and contributing to the care review process. The position demands excellent communication skills and empathy, with at least two years of experience in a social care environment, ideally involving vulnerable individuals over 65. The role also includes participation in social activities and may involve leadership responsibilities such as supporting new staff or managing in the absence of senior managers. What is required from you? - A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK

  • Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2, and achieved or working towards NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
  • At least two years' experience working in a social care environment - preferably with vulnerable people over 65
  • Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia
  • Excellent communication skills and a real ability to show empathy to people under your care
  • Night Senior Care Assistant to work from 8pm to 8am to include alternative weekends

A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant - Person-centred care - You will ensure that residents receive personal care from you and your team including bathing, dressing and oral care within their preferences, and actively promote right to choice and independence

  • Review -You will contribute to and carry out care reviews with your residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
  • Medication - You will administer residents' medication in a safe and supportive and compliant way
  • Social Activity - You will lead in and participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
  • Leadership - you may support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called up on to lead the home where more senior managers are not available.
