Hourly Personal Care Assistant for University Student in Manchester
Are you a recent graduate looking for an exciting, meaningful role?
Ask Jules is recruiting on behalf of our client, a young man finishing his first year at the University of Manchester. He will be studying Aerospace Engineering and is looking for a like-minded PA to support his independence and studies.
Start: ASAP
Rota during Holiday Periods
24 hour shifts - 10am-10am 2 to 3 times per week (Sleeping night)
Week 1 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday 8am8pm (Day Shift)
Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8pm-8am (Waking night)
Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 8pm-8am (Waking night)
Week 4 -Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8am-8pm (Day Shift)
Pay: £16/hour
Location: Chester / University of Manchester (M13) term time
Accommodation: Free private room in student halls or in family home while on shift
Our client is studying Aerospace Engineering degree at The University of Manchester. He is looking for a PA who can act discrete whilst providing care. He is looking for someone who is happy helping him balance studying, socialising and everyday life.
- Personal care and health care tasks
- Accompanying for events and nights out
- Domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning
- Assisting with university life and daily routines
- Supporting occasional travel in the UK and abroad (passport desirable)
Care experience is not essential as full training in our clients specific needs will be provided.
He has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is a full-time powered wheelchair user. He is excited to explore all that university life has to offer from Aerospace Engineering design projects, to joining societies, nights out and spontaneous plans with friends.
- Music loves hip hop and attending live music events. Artists he enjoys include Drake, Juice WRLD, J. Cole and Post Malone
- Football a passionate Manchester United fan and attends matches regularly
- Travelling recently visited Athens and Kalamata in Greece
- Films especially sci fi like Interstellar
- Space, History and Paleontology

Our client is looking for someone to help him with essential things that he is unable to do himself, he tries to be as independent as possible, so his PAs will have to be understanding of the fact there will be times he wants to be by himself. He wants his PAs to enjoy this job and make it feel as though it is as far from a job as possible and instead helping with a small number of tasks throughout a friends day.
Our client is looking for a PA who is flexible, social and able to keep up with his active lifestyle while respecting his independence. He is looking for a PA that reflects his personable and laid back personality. For this role you will assist with day-to-day tasks but understand the importance of when to step back and allow the clients independence.
