Deputy Manager – Nursing Home

Location: Perth, Scotland

Salary: £22.97 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day management of a nursing home in Perth.

Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care. You will provide clinical leadership, support and supervise the care team, and take responsibility for the management of the home in the absence of the Home Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified nurse with strong leadership skills who is passionate about delivering outstanding care to older people.

  • Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day operation of the care home.
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist nursing support to the staff team.
  • Take responsibility for resident care and the operation of the home in the absence of the Home Manager.
  • Promote residents' independence, choice, dignity and respect.
  • Ensure high standards of person-centred care are consistently delivered.
  • Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Support care planning, clinical assessments and the ongoing review of residents' needs.
  • Supervise, coach and support colleagues to maintain high standards of care.
  • Support staff development, training and performance management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communicate effectively with external professionals and stakeholders.
  • Monitor care quality and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all relevant policies, procedures and clinical standards are followed.

  • Qualified RGN or RMN with a valid NMC PIN.
  • Up-to-date clinical knowledge and nursing practice.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a care setting.
  • Experience with person-centred care planning.
  • Previous experience within a nursing or care home environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Compassionate and resilient approach.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Authorised to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo satisfactory references and an enhanced PVG check.
