Pulse are recruiting for a Clinical Psychologist to join an award-winning rehabilitation network on a 12-month locum contract. This is a rare opportunity to work within a unique collaboration of seven partner organisations delivering specialist rehabilitation care to adults following traumatic injury or serious illness.

You’ll be based across inpatient and community settings, providing neuropsychological input and psychological support to patients, families, and carers. The role combines a person-centred, humanistic approach with the scientific rigour of neuropsychology, offering a truly holistic model of care.

This locum post is hosted by a leading NHS Trust in partnership with local authorities across Cheshire and Merseyside, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for professional development.

  • Deliver specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments using a range of tools and methods.
  • Formulate and implement tailored psychological interventions for individuals, families, and carers.
  • Provide expert consultation and advice to MDT colleagues across the network.
  • Support care planning through early psychological formulation and risk assessment.
  • Supervise psychological staff and contribute to training and service development.
  • Lead service improvement initiatives and contribute to research and governance.

Your input will be central to shaping rehabilitation pathways and improving outcomes for individuals affected by complex physical trauma and neurological conditions.

Working within this locum role offers a range of benefits, including:

  • Access to a highly integrated MDT and specialist rehabilitation network
  • Opportunities for clinical supervision, CPD, and research involvement
  • Flexible working arrangements across inpatient and community settings
  • Supportive leadership and a culture of innovation and collaboration
  • Weekly payroll

We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical)
  • Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation settings
  • Strong formulation and intervention skills across a range of psychological models
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within MDTs
