Job description

We're Hiring!

Join us as our new Childcare Manager in our OFSTED-rated Outstanding onsite nursery.

Could you be our next Childcare Manager in our Outstanding family residential rehab?

We're searching for someone who brings expertise, enthusiasm, and a big warm heart to our family-focused setting. If you're Level 3 qualified (or above!) and you adore creating safe, joyful spaces where children can flourish while parents rebuild their futures — you might be exactly who we're looking for.

In our OFSTED-rated Outstanding home, families come to grow, heal, and reconnect. You'll be the champion of the children's experience — the one who spots the magic in everyday moments, turns challenges into opportunities, and keeps everything running smoothly with a smile.

This role is based at the National Specialist Family Service in Sheffield Residential Service, and you will be expected to participate in an on-call rota.

We are seeking an individual who enjoys bringing innovative ideas to life and is confident in taking on new and exciting challenges.

  • A full and relevant Level 3 or higher childcare qualification (essential)
  • Level 2 English and Maths (essential)
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (essential)
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and expectations in a childcare/nursery setting
  • Knowledge of EYFS standards and strength-based parenting support
  • Experience of managing teams of internal staff and childcare students
  • Experience or knowledge of working with families
  • Experience or knowledge of working with individuals accessing substance use support/treatment
  • Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of families and the service
  • Determination, a drive to succeed, and a willingness to learn
  • Passion and enthusiasm for making a real difference to the lives of the people we support

You will ensure that the childcare setting is delivered in line with recommended professional good practice and Phoenix Futures' policies. You will maintain a recovery-orientated approach to all aspects of the service and demonstrate a strong commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.

Your team will support the day-to-day care of children in the nursery, ensuring positive parenting is promoted and that children receive the highest standard of care in an environment that supports a culture of recovery in line with a recovery-orientated system of care.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, based at the Sheffield Family Residential Service. Participation in an on-call rota is required to support staff and service delivery.

Phoenix Futures Group is a charity with over 50 years' experience and a leading provider of drug and alcohol treatment.

Our values are what define us and ensure we work to the highest standards. We believe in being the best, we are passionate about recovery, we value our history and use it to inform our future.

We work with local authorities, other charities and service providers across the country to deliver innovative programmes and projects that change lives for the better, setting people on the path to health and emotional wellbeing.

We provide a diverse range of services, and our expertise in psychosocial treatment and support is the common thread that runs through everything we do. People need psychological interventions, social support, meaningful use of time, a sense of purpose and a place of safety to sustain their recovery. At our core, we support people, families and communities to recover from drug and alcohol dependency.
