Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse Location: Thurrock Salary: £18,669 per annum Vacancy Type: Permanent, Part Time (17.5 hours per week) Are you a compassionate and skilled nurse ready to make a real difference for people struggling with substance dependency? The Forward Trust is seeking a Band 6 Community Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team in Thurrock. This is a part-time role, 17.5 hours per week, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to people experiencing substance dependency. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing and supervising evidence-based substance misuse interventions. Your role will include triage and assessment, brief interventions, prescribed drug treatment, case management, crisis support, group sessions, and 1:1 work. You will also support access to primary care and mental health services, promoting healthier lifestyles and overall wellbeing. What You’ll Do:

Provide interventions and support for drug and alcohol users with complex needs.Develop, implement, and evaluate recovery-focused care plans.Conduct risk assessments, safeguard adults and children, and maintain accurate clinical records.Facilitate group and individual sessions using motivational interviewing and behaviour-change techniques.Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure integrated care and maintain high service standards.Participate in ECGs, fibro scans, clinical audits, and health assessment clinics. Registered nurse with active NMC registration and substance misuse or community nursing experience.Strong communication skills and the ability to manage caseloads effectively.Commitment to evidence-based care, professional standards, and continuous development.
