An exciting opportunity has risen for a Nurse to join the Birmingham & Solihull Community Service. The team provide case managment for those affected by TB, and manage incidents and outbreaks.
The specified person will also carry out nurse-led screening and BCG clinics. Caseload will include adults and children. Therfore, paediatric nurses are welcome to apply. Full training and mentorship will be provided.

Qualifications
Essential
- * Registered Adult / Child Nurse on the NMC Register.
- * Evidence of post registration qualification in TB, supplemented by specialist experience and short courses.
- * Recognised mentorship course
- * Non-medical prescriber or willing to work towards (where applicable to role).
Desirable
- * To have or working towards advanced health assessment module and non medical prescribing.
Experience
Essential
- * Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
- * Significant post registration experience at Band 6 or above Clinical Nurse Specialist within practice related field to role applied for
- * Evidence of ability to professionally lead / manage a team.
- * Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/competence.
- * Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to TB.
- * Experience of developing educational programmes and teaching / assessing and supervising others in a clinical and community setting.
- * Experience in service development.
- * Working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment .
- * Can demonstrate expert nursing knowledge with an ability to assess,plan, implement and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients and give advice and information to patients / relatives/ care staff.
- * Knowledge of corporate and clinical governance (E).
- * Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context relating to the speciality
- * Has understanding / experience of the principles of safeguarding .
Desirable
- * Patient / user involvement and advocacy role.
- * Awareness of current research related to the speciality.
