Job description
- Provide consistent, person-centred care tailored to each child and young person’s needs.
- Build trusting and professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments, activities and community engagement.
- Promote independence, confidence, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations.
- Complete accurate daily records, reports and other required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Participate in handovers, team meetings, training and supervision.
- Support with household duties and the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
The successful candidate will be compassionate, patient and reliable, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should be committed to safeguarding children and young people and comfortable working as part of a professional care team.
Right To Work in the UK
Care Certificate (or equivalent training)
Enhanced DBS (on the update service) - May explore applying for one if this is not readily available
Previous experience in supporting children and young persons
